Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport (IATA: WDH, ICAO: FYWH) is the main international airport serving the Namibian capital city of Windhoek. Located 45 km (28 mi) east of the city, it is Namibia's leading airport with international connections and handled 672,582 passengers in 2007. In 2009, the airport handled around 680,000 passengers, just over 4% down on the previous year when over 710,000 passengers were processed. [1]The airport is named after Herero leader Hosea Kutako.
You will find the airport is along the road from Windhoek to Gobabis (B6). This road is also called the Trans-Kalahariweg. You will find the exit to the airport is clearly indicated.
Shuttle buses leave the Departures Hall to the combined bus and taxi station on Windhoek's Independence Avenue. There is also a direct connection to the Eros Airport for domestic flights within Namibia.
Car rental - Windhoek International Airport

Taxis
You will find the Taxis standing outside of the arrivals Hall of Windhoek International Airport. The official taxis can be recognized by a black rectangle with a number, it is suggested that you use the official taxis.
Airport Parking
Airport Parking consists of three different parking areas: one area is for short-term, one area is for medium-term and the last one for long-term parking. The last mentioned has car park shades and a guard.
Hotels
Windhoek International Airport does not have any hotels at the airport. There is a restaurant seating 40 Guests.
Baggage
Baggage can not be stored at the airport. There is however a counter for lost luggage. Porters are available.

In the Arrivals Hall there is both a general information counter as well as a window for tourist information.
Business
There are limited business facilities. In the Departures Hall, after Customs, there is a VIP lounge. Further information is available through the general telephone number.
Disabled facilities
The Windhoek Airport is accessible for the disabled. in 2001, the terminal was entirely renovated and wheelchair ramps and adapted rest rooms were installed. For assistance you can go to the service counter in the Central Hall.
